We started the year learning about the life cycle of a butterfly. We have several passion flower vines growing on our playground fence and Painted Lady butterflies LOVE passion flower vines. On Tuesday the students went outside and collected larva (AKA caterpillars) for the classroom and used their iPads to take pictures of all of the different stages. We found eggs, larva, pupas, and adults. We even found adults emerging from their pupa cases with wrinkly, wet wings! We can't wait to see what happens to the larva we collected for the classroom! Here are some of iMovies that the kids made about metamorphosis.
