Haiden: Today in the science lab we made alka seltzer cannons. First we used a cup with an open top and we put 1/2 of an alka seltzer inside. At first it was bubbly but then it started to simmer down. It smelled a lot like medicine but, instead of putting our nose right over it we wafted it so that we can smell it without having our sense of smell damaged. Then we put 1/4 of an alka seltzer inside of a film canister. After about 30 seconds it popped. Some of them hit the ceiling but it was okay. These are the science rules that we used: waft don't smell, wear goggles and don't eat or drink anything. That is all we did in the science lab today.
Pacer: Well we did a alka seltzer cannon and it was fun because you never knew when it was going to pop. We used a film container and filled it up half way up then put 1/4 of a alka seltzer. Then BOOM it popped all the way to the sealing and sometimes hit people. The safety rules we used were wear goggles, follow directions, clean up after experiment, waft to smell the experiment.
Krista: First we filled up a cup with half a cup of water then we dropped one half of a tablet into the water and watched it desolve and carbonate.
Next after that we filled a film consister half way with water then put 1/4 of a tablet in there and then the lid blew off the top because of pressure.
